The complete hitting sequence from pass to landing. Learn the 6-part arm swing, how to approach to YOUR dominance, and my Improve Anywhere method.
The 6-part arm swing separation: your swing is not one motion. Learn the six movements that fire in sequence to create effortless power.
How to approach to YOUR dominance: wrist away, straight, or cross body. Your body creates angles wider than the court. Learn which ones to keep.
The Improve Anywhere method: motor imagery, wall ball, and self toss. You don't need a court or other people to get better every single day.
The full hitting chain from pass to landing: kick out, staging point, approach, jump mechanics, and swing. One missing link and the whole chain suffers.
Whether you found me through a beach volleyball highlight or a coaching recommendation, I'm glad you're here. I started Miles Partain VolleyKnowledge because I asked myself: what did my younger self actually need?
Most people don't know this, but young Miles trained mostly at home. It wasn't the club volleyball practices or the volleyball tournaments. My dad built us a backyard court and tossed balls for hours, but he was a basketball guy, not a volleyball one. There was no one to review my film who'd already walked the path. I pieced it together myself, year after year, taking the long way to D1 First Team All-American and eventually the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Then on January 7, 2025, the Palisades fire took my childhood home. Strangely enough, our backyard volleyball court was the only thing left standing. I don't think that was an accident.
Since then, I stepped back from the pro tour into a full time job helping with my dad's business Homefront LA, and I had to learn how to train around a full-time life. Every rep had to count. I train differently now than almost any player I know.
What I needed back then was a high performance coordinator: someone who knew what to fix, why it mattered, how to fix it, and how to design my training plan across the full scope of a volleyball journey. That's who I aim to be for you!
Now I'm giving back everything I learned along the way, on the road back to LA28 in my hometown.
